Climate Action Plan
"UCF is committed to providing the Central Florida community and beyond with high-quality educational experiences, groundbreaking research, and practical solutions to some of the world's most urgent issues.
At UCF, we know that the stabilization of the Earth's climate is one of those issues--and that's why UCF has a plan for sustainability and has pledged to be climate neutral by 2050 at the latest."
Among the university’s longer-term goals, UCF has pledged to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by at least 17 percent by 2020 and by 42 percent by 2030. UCF will strive to reduce its energy consumption by 30 percent below 2005 levels by 2013, increase its recycling rate to 75 percent and have 40 percent of its commuters using an environmentally preferred method to commute to campus by 2020.
